The pyridylamination method is useful for the structural unalysis ef sugar chains from smal] arnounts of glycoproteins. About 60(;・g of the sialyl linkage was, however, hydrolyzed under the reaction conditions reported previously.i2) The grewing need for fluorescence labeling of sialyl sugar chains prompted us to re-investigate the reaction conditions.
